Cast Cross
thingiverse
This sand casting-specific model has subtly tapered sides to facilitate easy mold removal. It took approximately 20 minutes to create in Maya, two hours for printing, and 45 minutes for casting that involved 10 minutes on mold creation, 15 minutes for metal melting, and 20 minutes for cleanup and painting. The grayscale version represents the print, while the silver/black one is the aluminum cast. Measuring around 7 inches in length post-printing and casting, it was printed using a Replicator at 220 degrees with gray PLA, HPB switched off, glass build plate, and blue painters tape. The print featured two shells, 20 micron layer height, and 10% infill, completed within just under two hours.
