Born from inspiration drawn from the Orient, a recurring motif in Cassina Collections and exemplified by Charlotte Perriand's work, Sengu Sofa stands out for its unique and unconventional compositions, all crafted from natural materials and hues. Its framework, comprised of an elegantly finished steel frame with two wooden beams, evokes memories of Japan; the sofa's ergonomics are elevated by the soft fold of the backrests and armrests, characterized by external quilting. This same detail is also repeated on the back cushions that complete the sofa. Thanks to a study conducted by Cassina LAB, a collaboration between the Cassina Research and Development Centre and Polidesign at the Milan Polytechnic, a 100% recycled fibre, made primarily from PET recovered from the sea, has been incorporated into the padding of the cushions.
