Inspired by Eastern cultures, a recurring motif in the Cassina Collections and evident in Charlotte Perriand's work, Sengu Sofa stands out for its unique and unconventional compositions, all crafted from natural materials and hues. Its framework, composed of a reinforced steel structure elegantly finished with two wooden accents, echoes memories of Japan; the sofa's ergonomic design is further enhanced by the plush fold of the backrests and armrests characterized by external stitching. This same detail is also repeated on the back cushions that complete the sofa. Through the research conducted by Cassina LAB, a collaboration between Cassina's Research and Development Centre and Polidesign at the Milan Polytechnic, 100% recycled fibre, primarily derived from PET recovered from ocean waste, has been integrated into the padding of the cushions.
