I find a rotating bezel on a watch to be an extremely useful device for marking time. Someone on the phone tells you to meet up in 25 minutes, so one simply turns the marker 25 minutes ahead of the current minute, no fuss, no fiddling with buttons required. A quick turn and we're done; then one can go about doing their thing. When the minute hand approaches the marker, you know it's time. Or in a flight, the flight system says there are 5 hours and 30 minutes until your destination. Just turn the marker 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of the current hour hand, and as the hour hand approaches the marker, you can visually see how much time is left. A bezel is also used to mark the start of an event. Set the marker to the current minute, then go do your thing; at a glance, you can see how many minutes have elapsed. Because the bezel isn't as tight and firm as I'd like it to be, and the bezel will pop off if we accidentally bump it against something hard, DO NOT use this for any time-critical event, like diving!
