The fire station at Benauge was built by architects Claude Ferret, Yves Salier, and Adrien Courtois between 1950 and 1954 on the site of the old Bordeaux-État train station that closed in 1939 and was destroyed in 1953. The aluminum façade was designed by Jean Prouvé.
