Casement Window Knob

Casement Window Knob

I had a frustrating encounter with a couple casement windows in my workshop that were causing me grief due to crank handles that got in the way, and one was even stripped out. So I quickly came up with this solution, applying a little Loctite to the center and then securing it with a shorter screw and washer fastened to the window crank shaft, resulting in a sleek low-profile crank that doesn't slip at all. As an aside, these casement windows are designed for a snug fit on the shaft, so I decided to heat the center with a hot air gun and press-fit them into place, letting it cool down completely before adding an extra drop of Loctite for added security. To make room for the center if needed, simply stretch the model by a few percent when slicing.
