This is a case for the Velleman Pocket VU Meter Kit MK115 (http://www.velleman.co.uk/contents/en-uk/p41.html). To fully utilize this kit, two modifications are required. First, you must adjust the LED placement to 12mm above the PCB, deviating from the standard flush installation shown in the kit's photos and instructions. Second, carefully cut one of the copper tracks on the PCB that connects the battery terminal, allowing for a push switch to be inserted in series with the battery. This optional but recommended modification prevents continuous battery draining when the meter is not in use. Simply solder the switch wires across the cut track. I opted for a compact momentary push switch from RS, featuring a 6mm threaded shank that fits through the case hole without interfering with internal components. A version of the case without the switch hole has been included for those who prefer not to install the switch. The lid screws are No4 Self-Tapping screws, which must be tightened gently to avoid cracking the plastic as they create their own threads. The trimmer shaft protrudes slightly through the lid and requires occasional adjustment using long-nose pliers or tweezers.
