Case for USB Stick
thingiverse
The original 4GB PNY Attache Mini USB stick case was unattractive and poorly constructed; thus, I replaced it with a custom-made 3D printed version. My name is prominently displayed on the side of my new case. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, 3D printing costs remain relatively stable regardless of complexity, allowing for intricate details such as text to be embedded into physical objects. To create this case, I first disassembled my USB stick and measured its dimensions before modifying the internal cavity of the printed design accordingly. I added my name to the side using Blender's text tool, which works best when placed on an object's sides for optimal visibility. After confirming that both parts fit perfectly, I printed them out. Finally, I glued the USB stick's circuit board into the case, ensuring that the adhesive was applied directly to the connector in order to effectively distribute weight.
