Case for Tin Whistle

Here is a protective cover for a thin whistle or penny whistle. It safeguards the whistle while transporting (in a backpack or so). Spiral vase mode is used to print this design. To create this cover, simply print the top/bottom part twice. This will provide a bottom wall. A layer thickness of 1-1.5mm is recommended for stability. One part is designed as the bottom section, which can be adjusted to change the length of the cover and make it more stable. It's not easy to remove later. The other part is the top section, which is easy to open and close. The tube-part should be printed without any top or bottom layers, just a simple tube. The upper end is slightly smaller to make it easier to stick up the cover. All parts are designed to be printed in spiral vase mode, taking into account an 0.4mm-nozzle. Using a bigger nozzle may result in thicker walls and a less perfect fit. For added protection, you can insert foam (with double adhesive tape) into the top and bottom parts of the cover. The design has been tested on my Waltons Mellow whistle and fits perfectly. Smaller whistles should also work well, while longer ones are not a problem but thicker ones may cause issues. To test this design, simply print a small section (2-3 centimeters high) of the tube part and then abort the print. This small tube should fit snugly around your whistle. Scaling up or down may work, but it's possible that the outer parts won't hold well or won't stick properly. It's worth trying to see how it works out.
