Case for TeensyBat PCB v0.7 / Teensy 4.1

Case for the TeensyBat bat detector PCB v0.7, designed for the Teensy 4.1. This is Edwin Houwertjes' 2021 redesign to fit perfectly in the project box he suggests. Minor design change from the photos On the photo, the SD card is not yet centered in the slot. I have since corrected this in the v1.0 box design, but didn't re-print. Yours should therefore look a bit nicer. Design features The design has holes for all optional TeensyBat features, but doesnot let the Dallas temperature IC stick out. It also has room for a 126090 battery (Liter brand) to fit in without any rattling and no need for it to be glued in, it is held in place by a lip and a friction fit. As for screws to close the case, I used RND brand 610-00414 (available from Distrelec, order no. 301-72-649), Philips PH1 head, 2.2mm x 9.5mm. Zach poffs box on Thingiverse (for the previous version of the TeensyBat) was able to fit horns for directing the sound to the microphone. This one just has the 2mm hole, as suggested by Edwin in the current design. I attached a foam pad donut for muffling off-axis sound. However, I suspect a horn to be superior to this solution. If I were to fit one, I would drill out the hole larger, print the horns from Zach's design, and glue one of them in. Caveat My shielding can was a bit higher than Edwin's design planned for (I could only source thicker shield material). This can sits right below the display PCB. Because the display PCB can be raised a little bit higher than intended, this was no problem per se, but I increased the height of the upper half of the box by 2mm because of this. If you print this design yourself, and your display sits perfectly flush in the socket, you may need a small shim or re-design the box accordingly. Print Settings Printer: Prusa Mini+ Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.15 or 0.2 (picture is 0.15) Infill: 15% Filament: Prusament PLA Opal Green Notes: I only added support material below the lip to hold the battery (in the lower half of the case). The rest was done via with bridging. I used a Prusa Mini+ for printing. Category: Biology
