case for sparkfun FTDI basic breakout
thingiverse
I recently created a case for the Sparkfun FTDI USB/serial converter (available at https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9716), which is ideal for Arduino Pro Mini devices. This sturdy yet compact design prevents short circuits and even has enough strength to be walked on. The dimensions are snug but can be adjusted by modifying the OpenSCAD source file. One key feature is that it sits flush against the flat serial connector, avoiding conflicts with angled connectors. Additionally, there are two small holes for viewing RX/TX lights and a tight door tab for secure placement. To remove it, simply slide out the protruding side using a ruler or similar tool.
