Case for Sinclair Scientific Calculator Kit
thingiverse
This is a case for the Sinclair Scientific calculator replica kit from @arduinoenigma. It replaces the 4 legs provided with the kit and allows users to hold the calculator in hand more easily. The same screws can be used to attach the case, making it easy to assemble. Note that if you print the case in white, the Arduino's red LED will likely be visible through the case. In this situation, it may be a good idea to unsolder the LED for better visibility. INSTRUCTIONS: The original file (Sinclair_Scientific_Calculator.stl) is designed specifically for the "Modern display" module and FDM printers that use PLA material. Although it's a tight fit, PLA is flexible enough to make it work. I added an extra file called Sinclair Scientific Calculator_BubDisp_extraclearance.stl, which is designed for the vintage "Bubble display" and online printing with materials like plastic. This model has a more comfortable fit than the PLA version due to its less flexibility. Note that while the "Bubble display" model should work, it hasn't been tested because I don't have this version of the kit. If you want to print the "Modern display" version using online printing or the "Bubble display" with a FDM printer, just send me a message and I'll try to add them to the files.
