Case For Samsung GTI9000 (Galaxy, Captivate etc.)

Initially, I planned to replace my bulky car mount for my Samsung Galaxy S GTI9000 Android phone using a 3D printer. I had a Gomadic car mount which I liked due to its air vent-clipping mechanism and phone rotation feature, but disliked the huge bracket and limited screen visibility. I discovered mojomoneys Halo-themed case for Samsung Captivate (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3828) and decided to modify it by adding a slot to connect the case and bracket. However, I encountered an issue as the switch, microphone, and camera dimensions on a Captivate differed from a Galaxy. To proceed, I requested source files from mojomoney, who kindly provided SolidWorks files (which I couldn't use due to not having the software). Instead, I worked with the .stl file using OpenSCAD. The program informed me that the object was non-manifold, necessitating the removal of Halo carvings to make it manifold. Although the final design wasn't as visually appealing as mojomoneys, it fulfilled my purpose. Furthermore, I designed a slot mechanism and added it to the backside, ensuring compatibility with other designs. I expressed gratitude to mojomoney for their exceptional design, acknowledging that I couldn't have achieved this without my two weeks of experience in CAD software (OpenSCAD). As an output, there are three .scad and three .stl files available: one each for the case without holes, one with squared holes suitable for Samsung Galaxy, and one for the slot object. Users can print a small piece to test the fit before scaling or modifying it as desired. If necessary, users can also enhance the hole design and utilize the slot piece if they wish to use it as a car mount.
