Case for Pong Clock
thingiverse
This user constructed a Pong Word Clock (http://www.instructables.com/id/Pong-Word-Clock/) and needed a case to house it. As they had just acquired a 3D printer, this was their first project designed from scratch. The design includes cutouts and standoffs for the LED panels and also accommodates Freetronics Eleven Arduino compatible board. Any Arduino Uno compatible board should fit too. The case design can be edited using DXF files in conjunction with OpenSCAD, with 2D DXF files creating the basic layout. Each layer needing a different height is done separately and then 'extruded' to the correct height in OpenSCAD. All extrusions create the final 3D object. The user printed their box using ABS with 0.4mm layer height and solid infill, ensuring support material was turned on for neat rectangular cut-outs. They joined the three case sections together with a single piece of clear 3mm perspex across the back.
