Case for Orange Pi Zero for Prusa MK3s
thingiverse
This project enables you to use a Orange Pi Zero instead of Raspberry Pi Zero for Prusa MK3s. The advantages are: 1. Orange Pi Zero H3 costs about 25$ 2. Orange Pi Zero is available easily 3. Orange Pi Zero has a RJ45 connector for network 4. Orange Pi Zero supports 3 USB Hubs This is a remix of https://3d-druck-archiv.de/blog/einplatinenrechner-stuff/orange-pi-zero-pinout-usb-u- and https://github.com/ludiazv/octocitrico Thanks for your work. The first version of this project is to support the same features as with Raspberr Pi Zero. - Connect to Prusa MK3S - Use a USB camera - Simple LED light The following steps are needed: 1. Orange Pi with octoprint 2. Printed case 3. USB breakouts and cables 3. Printed camera arm. 4. LED strips. Orange Pi with Octoprint There is a img available at https://github.com/ludiazv/octocitrico Currently this image works good. It has the following caveats: 1. Don't change the OCTO_USER it works only with user "pi" 2. You need to set up the camera services manually Both issues are solved in https://github.com/volkmarnissen/octocitrico However, this repository has no compiled image. You need to build it on your own. USB breakouts and cables The Orange Pi Zero supports 3 USB Host ports. The picture shows how to connect them properly See also here: https://3d-druck-archiv.de/blog/einplatinenrechner-stuff/orange-pi-zero-pinout-usb-u-gehaeuse-stl-157 I used a solder iron to mount the USB breakouts instead of screws. LED strips I use 12V strips serially connected to have a short double LED strip. You can cut 12V LED strips between every 3 LED's. However, the printer has 24V. So, you need to strips in serie. See pictures for wiring. You can connect the LED cable directly to the 24V connector of the printer. In this case they will be switched on, when the printer is on. Next steps - A 5V power supply inside the case to avoid unneccessary cables on the outside. - Dimmable/controllable LED strip - Support for klipper and mainsailOS - Similar approach for Anycubic vyper So, stay tuned. :-)
