I printed the original design and discovered many of the same issues noted by the designer and others in the comments section of his thing. After careful consideration, I decided to use threaded features to secure the taps and dies. The 3mm, 4mm and 5mm dies are held firmly in place by 8mm long Socket Head Cap Screws pressed into specially designed pockets for the head. The 6mm and 7mm dies are secured by a thread cut directly into the plastic post with the dies themselves. I intentionally made the posts 1/2mm under nominal so they should be relatively easy to cut. However, it is crucial to exercise care when cutting these threads to avoid breaking them off or getting them out of square. All the taps are securely held by threads cut into the insert. I crafted the holes nominally the size of the tap drill for the thread, which may require reaming them out to size with a hand drill if your printer produces undersized holes.
