A lightweight yet sturdy case is planned for my mandolin collection. The construction material could either be a 1.2mm galvanized steel sheet or a 1mm aluminum, with the latter option possibly displaying scratches more easily. Regardless, steel seems more durable. Laser cutting will be employed to create flat parts, which will then be folded and riveted at the corners for added strength. The interior will feature foam padding, complete with a cavity designed specifically for securing the mandolins while providing shock absorption in a lightweight package.
