Case for Hackable Naked 7 Port USB Hub
thingiverse
ModMyPi Link sell a fully-assembled 7 port USB hub, designed specifically to match the case being worked up for my trusty Raspberry Pi B+. While the USB hub itself works nicely as-is, I figured it needed a custom enclosure to fit seamlessly into my setup. I've refined the fit enough to work with just one test unit - so please let me know how well your 3D printed copy holds up in use. I've added the OpenSCAD files, enabling you to make your own modifications and customize this case as per your preference. The only issue worth mentioning right now is the slight snugness of the lid tabs when fitting them into the base slots - you may need to touch it up with some minor filing before a smooth fit can be achieved. Feel free to report any variations! Now, let's get straight to building instructions. **2 Custom Case Options** For this build, we've prepared two lid variants: one that carefully carves out space for your Raspberry Pi module and the second as a clean plain case option. Moving on to our base plate design: **1. With 4 mounting holes** **Instructions and Guidelines:** Here are some basic tips you might want to note: Our OpenSCAD code has built-in flexibility thanks to its parametric features - giving you ample options for adding personal flair to your build. On the inside of the lid, you'll notice pads ready to accommodate two warm glow-producing red LEDs - bringing that subtle hint of Raspberry colour right into view.
