Human: I designed a custom case for a DC-DC boost circuit module (ebay listing 271416568548 "DC-DC 12V to 19V24V15V Adjustable Boost Converter Power Module Battery Charge") that I purchased to power my PoE remote camera setup. The module requires a 24V input, but the existing 12V battery connection resulted in excessive cable loss. I created a case for the bare PCB assembly to provide a secure and organized housing. The boost circuit module operates efficiently at 88% with a 1A output current and remains cool even under load. However, I discovered one minor issue: the green terminal block has a small ridge on one side that interfered with the plastic sidewall, causing a snug fit. To resolve this, I used sidecutters to remove a small notch. I may add this modification to future versions of the design if time permits. The case features a cutout under the terminal block for soldered input and output wires, which provide a more reliable connection than screw terminals. A small hole above the trim pot allows access with a thin screwdriver for voltage adjustment. Assembly requires four M3 x 25mm screws (I used Pololu #1077), which must be no longer than 25.0 mm to ensure proper engagement with the plastic boss on the bottom part of the case. The design relies solely on the screws biting into the 3mm length of plastic, providing a secure hold.
