Case for Apple TV Remote (4th Generation)
thingiverse
This case wraps snugly around the 4th generation Apple TV remote, covering both sides and back with precision. To achieve a perfect fit, it needs to be printed in an elastic material - I opted for Taulman PCTPE, but NinjaFlex or SemiFlex would also work well. Proper support settings are essential for printing successfully; you'll need to specify this carefully to get the charging and IR openings just right. I set mine to 25% support, 45° maximum overhang, with 0.25 mm horizontal separation and 1 layer vertical gap. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Ultimaker * Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 * Rafts: No rafts required * Supports: Yes, specified carefully * Resolution: 0.1 mm precision * Infill: Full 100% density Notes: To print this case in Taulman PCTPE smoothly, I used a heated glue stick at 40°C and an Olsson block extruder with nozzle set to 250°C. The case printed at a comfortable 0.1 mm layer height and 0.38 mm line width, with two solid outlines for added stability. I made sure the first layer aligned perfectly along the long axis of the remote. To minimize retraction issues, I kept my settings simple: retract 6 mm, wipe 3 mm, no coasting at all. How I Designed This Special thanks go out to ScottCher for his incredible inspiration - "AppleTV 4th Gen Remote Case" on Thingiverse is where it started (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1121066). But with a little creativity and some design finesse in 123d Design, I came up with something entirely new: this custom remote case boasts the iconic Apple logo cutout and that essential lip at the top to keep it securely attached to your device.
