The author has successfully installed the latest testing release of FreeCAD 0.17 on their Debian Linux system, which is an advanced version compared to the one available in the stable repository (0.14). They have been following the FreeCAD project for some time and believe that this updated version shows promise as a useful tool, with basic modeling and assembly functions becoming increasingly usable. The case folder includes relevant FreeCAD files.
