This vise seamlessly integrates into any Carvey CNC machine and is specifically designed to engrave small materials where traditional clamps provided with the Carvey cannot be used. For optimal performance, nuts and bolts work best with M10 steel hardware readily available at most hardware stores; however, you can also use 3D printed hardware models if preferred. To assemble the vise, epoxy or plastic weld the all-thread bolt to the plastic knob. In addition to assembly, it's essential to "trick" the Carvey's smart clamp with an object that matches the Z thickness of the material in the vise plus the vise's own thickness. While we're working on a specialized model for this purpose, several small blocks and shims can achieve the necessary calibration.
