The Via Fioravantesca's stone lintel stands as a testament to ancient craftsmanship, weathered to a state where only vague outlines of its design remain visible. A possible interpretation of the worn surface reveals a castle with a towering presence and defensive crenellated battlements, or possibly a symbol of faith in the form of a cross, all enclosed within a shield emblem. This detailed 3D model was painstakingly reconstructed from 19 photographs captured by Reality Capture technology. The Mt. Amiata Project brings together faculty and students from the University of Florence and the University of Siena in a collaborative effort led by GDH. This ambitious undertaking could not have been accomplished without the generous backing of the Municipality of Arcidosso, whose support has been invaluable throughout this project.
