Carved ivory miniature vase

Another heirloom for the Souvenirs Challenge. This antique belonged to my grandparents and was picked up as a keepsake in the mid-20th century. I'm pretty sure it's of Chinese origin, though I could be mistaken. It stands about 5 inches tall. I believe that at one point it had a base, but unfortunately, it got cracked in two when my grandpa relocated from humid coastal Texas to dry Arizona.
