Carus ONE

Carus One is a minimalist dock designed following Carus' design language, prioritizing manufacturability and compactness while looking neat in both docked and undocked conditions. It caters to Apple iPhone 5 onwards and Apple Watch 38mm/42mm users. The dock has two parts: a base with a milled aluminium surface and a 5mm extruded aluminium stick. The base, measuring 10x10cm, houses a lightning connector, LED charge indicator, power button, USB port, micro USB port, and an opening for the Apple watch charger. It also includes a battery and can raise the lightning connector to accommodate iPhones with cases. The stick holds the Apple Watch charger symmetrically, ensuring visibility from both sides, with a plastic coating to prevent scratches. A loaded bent metal strip allows adjustment for iPhone placement with cases, while the hanging end facilitates docking of open/close strapped Apple Watches. The assembled dock stands at nearly 17cm but remains stable due to its heavy base. Carus One is a sleek, unique design catering to iPhone and Apple Watch users without additional features, potentially attracting a broader customer base. The design was modelled in Solidworks, rendered in Keyshot, and post-processed in Photoshop.
