Carthaginian War Elephant 1/72 scale (remix)
thingiverse
I really like Guy_Montag's 1/72 scale ancient miniatures, but he didn't have an elephant to go with his Punic Wars Carthaginians. I'm putting together Punic and Roman armies for Wars of the Republic using his designs, so I decided to try remixing an elephant from elsewhere on Thingiverse. I resized the source file and added the howdah in TinkerCad, following the style of the sculpture in the other image (attribution below). By Florival fr - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=69037617 I've only printed this in ABS-like resin on my Saturn; I imagine it would turn out ok in FDM with tree supports though. You'll want to add model ropes or chains under the elephant's belly to really complete it, and a driver sitting on the elephant's neck would be good; my sculpting skills aren't there yet. A couple of Guy's Punic soldiers, probably *sans bases*, would work well for the fighting crew. I'd love to see some makes of this. I'll post some of my own once I've got it painted. Thanks to the designer of the basic elephant and to Guy_Montag for the project inspiration.
