cart clips
thingiverse
I added a support to this shopping bag that cracked by replacing it with some right angle extruded aluminum I had on hand. To ensure the clips stayed snug on the aluminum, I included a draft angle. If you want to cement the clip in place, you can submerge it in 65 Deg C water while attached to the aluminum - this causes slight shrinkage of the PLA and locks the clip securely. Alternatively, you can sew your own bag or add a pocket to one you already have if you don't have the same bag. The clips allow you to stretch the shopping bag open in the cart for easy packing before leaving the store. I'll post pictures of it in action next time I go shopping. This design works well on an Aldi grocery bag, but it can be adapted for similar bags or ones made yourself. I'm confident that this solution is significantly stronger than the originals - the black support is attached to a blue and white 3D printed aluminum clip. SolidWorks files are included so you can adjust the design to fit your materials. Don't forget to mirror the design for the other side!
