Site 13 at Carrowmore megalithic cemetery, County Sligo, Ireland. Carrowmore stands out as one of the largest megalithic cemeteries in Europe and a major concentration of tombs in Ireland. The construction of these sites dates back to the Neolithic era around 4000BC. Of site 13 only the dolmen remains intact, an outer ring of stones estimated at 13 meters in diameter was removed by the early 19th Century. A modern road passes very close to the dolmen, and a few years ago, a car crashed into it, requiring the capstone to be repositioned using a crane.
