Carriage Stability Upgrades for Tevo Tarantula
thingiverse
Improved x and y axises carriages using three wheels and a tensioner on each carriage eliminate wobble and finicky eccentric nuts. My Tevo has no wobble after these upgrades, except for slight flex in the bed carriage arms. All parts were printed with support material. A few areas lacked support around holes where nuts go and adjacent bolt holes, making it difficult to remove support. -X Axis: The x axis features an integrated cooling fan duct designed to fit a 50mm x 15mm blower fan. The duct blows from behind the extruder, allowing both the bed leveling probe to be mounted and keeping the extruder in open access. The duct prints separately and needs to be glued onto the x carriage. You will need two m4 35mm bolts and two m4 nuts. All other parts come from stock x carriage components. -Y Axis: The bed carriage is remade using nemo_nobody's design, making it use only three wheels and a tensioner. You will need two m4 40mm bolts and two m4 nuts. All other parts are taken from stock bed carriage assemblies. -Spool Holder: Remixed from hugo_huge's spool holder, I designed a new 2020 mounting bracket to allow the spool to sit on top of the printer turned 90° for easy front load/unloading of the spool and direct drive extruder not having to pull filament at an odd angle. You will need two skateboard bearings.
