Carrera double lane switch repair

I have multiple Carrera double lane switches that were subjected to hard usage conditions before suddenly malfunctioning, causing a short circuit in certain situations. Upon opening one of the faulty switches, I discovered a charred nose section that was dividing and isolating both sides of the switch. To resolve this issue, I carefully removed the remaining plastic from the defective nose and created a replacement part to re-establish separation between the components. I am sharing my repair solution in hopes that it will assist fellow Carrera enthusiasts who may be experiencing similar problems with their switches. These items are quite expensive, so this DIY fix can help save money.
