Carpet / Rug Spikes
thingiverse
Here's my rug/carpet gripper, which I use to prevent heavy and light rugs from sliding around on carpets. To secure woven rugs with hard backs, I attach one gripper using double-sided tape. For soft-backed rugs, I superglue two together to create a 10cm x 10cm gripper that can be easily moved as needed. Print Settings: To produce high-quality results, print the gripper with a fine or variable layer height to achieve well-defined spike tips. Infill settings are less critical; using a few top/bottom layers and perimeters will suffice. The goal is to create a solid structure overall. I use PLA to print these grippers, which yield excellent results - robust spikes combined with a flexible backing. A minor drawback is some fine stringing on my default print settings, but given the numerous small pyramids involved, I consider this a minor quibble. This doesn't impact functionality, and as it's all about performance with a carpet gripper, I'm not complaining!
