Carpenter's Pencil Clip for Glasses
thingiverse
My brother-in-law is a skilled cabinet maker who shares my affinity for thin-rimmed glasses. When he came across my design for the "Pencil Clip for Glasses," he requested that I create one for his favorite carpenter's pencils. I'm pleased to present the outcome of this collaboration. Two versions are included in this design. Version 1 is a larger adaptation of the original clip, capable of holding not only carpenter's pencils but also writing pencils and standard Bic pens. In contrast, Version 2 features a distinct clip design that securely holds flat pencils more effectively than V1, although it won't accommodate writing pencils. Both versions have been tested with success on Dixon and Home Depot brand pencils, which are known for their varying dimensions. I personally prefer Version 1 due to its versatility, but I've included both designs in case one suits your preferences better. Your printer's choice will ultimately determine which version you like best. Important note: This design may not be compatible with every pair of glasses. The side pieces of my glasses are 3mm tall by 1.2mm wide, so if you wear thick-rimmed hipster glasses, this design won't work for you. It's also essential to take advantage of flexible frame glasses when using this design to avoid damaging your glasses.
