Carpenter Bee Trap Jar Lid

Carpenter Bee Trap Jar Lid

This is a replacement lid for the jar from a carpenter bee trap. I do not know what brand it is, if you do please comment and I'll update the description. For this trap, the bees will go in the holes in the wood, go into the jar, and get stuck there. For mine, the original lid had started to crumble and the bits holding the screws on fell apart so the jar would no longer stay on, rendering the trap ineffective, more of a bee house than a bee trap. Carpenter bees are non-stinging large bees that bore holes in wood. They are common in the southern United States.I made this in Tinkercad, feel free to tweak it if you need, you can find it here. This has some threads so I printed it with a very small layer height (0.08 mm) and a bit hotter than usual. You may also want to print it more slowly if the threads aren't sticking together. The original lid was semi-clear plastic. I believe the trap works by attracting the bees towards the light so I used a white filament, but ideal would be a more translucent one.I used two ½" #8 screws, though the originals were a bit shorter.
