Carpe Diem Insert
thingiverse
My insert design for Carpe Diem is complete and I'm open to any constructive criticism or suggestions for improvement, so feel free to comment. After playing this game for the first time, I quickly realized it needed a setup process. Organizing and randomizing all of the light and dark green tiles was painful, so I put together my own set of poker chips to replace them, along with a box to hold them. The Light Green box can hold 28 tiles per slot, which is enough for each of the first three rounds of the game. The Dark Green box holds 28 tiles in the larger slot (for the final round) and 11 in the smaller slot (for the initial game setup). To use this design, you'll need to separate the four sets of goal cards and pick one of each set. The box that houses the frame boards has been split in two, taking into account my print bed (which is only 200mm). It will snap together with a bit of patience, as the puzzle piece is tight. I printed it twice and both times it snapped together, but I had to work at it a bit to make it fit. I've also included an STL of this box in one piece, so anyone can split it themselves (or if you have a large printer). The insert is designed to sit flush with the lid when all components are in place. It passed the shake test with flying colors, so it will allow for storage on its side. I didn't design it to house sleeved cards, as I don't sleeve my cards myself and don't have good dimensions for them with sleeves. If someone wants a slot for sleeved cards, just reach out to me with some dimensions and I'll see what I can do. For the poker chips, I created my own set of stickers and made up the set shown in the pictures. I used 40mm diameter and 3mm thick chips. The design includes space for 20 each of I, V, and X VPs, as well as 10 XXV chips. If anyone would like to use this design, just reach out and I'll send it your way. Also, because not everyone wants to use poker chips, I included a Spacer in the design. You can print the spacer for that slot in the box. To print, follow along with the screenshot posted in the pictures, which will tell you how many of each STL to print, along with approx cost and time. Keep in mind that you'll only need to print either the Poker Chip box or the Spacer (you don't need both). Thanks for taking a look!
