Carousel II

"Carousel II" is a revamped version of my original Carousel model published over six years ago using Autodesk Fusion 360. The key to how this model operates lies in a hidden 3D printed "sin wave" contour embedded within the base. As the motor spins, the lower rods of the horses glide up and down the sin wave contour, generating their distinctive up and down motion along with the flags. Four complete sin wave cycles are integrated into the base, causing the horses and flags to rise and fall four times during each journey around the carousel. The carousel consists of three 3D printed components: "Base.stl", "Carousel Base.stl" and "Carousel Canopy.3mf". Adding the five "Horse.3mf" and "Flag.stl" 3D printed components, the total count of 3D printed parts for this model reaches thirteen. Powering the carousel is an N20 6VDC 50RPM gear motor driven by a 1.5VDC power supply at 15ma. Designed using Autodesk Fusion 360 and sliced using Cura 4.3.0, this model was printed in PLA on both an Ultimaker 3+ Extended and an Ultimaker S5. One final note: I receive no compensation of any form whatsoever for the design, equipment, parts, or materials used in this model.
