Carousel II

Carousel II

myminifactory

"Carousel II" is a major Autodesk Fusion 360 update of my original Carousel model from over six years ago. The key to how this model operates lies within the hidden 3D printed "sin wave" contour inside the base. As the motor rotates, the lower rods of the horses move up and down along the sin wave contour, producing the up and down motion of the horses and flags. Four complete sin wave cycles are embedded in the base, causing the horses and flags to rise and fall four times each time they travel around the carousel. This carousel consists of three 3D printed components: "Base.stl", "Carousel, Base.stl" and "Carousel, Canopy.3mf". Adding five more "Horse.3mf" and "Flag.stl" 3D printed components brings the total count to thirteen. The model is powered by an N20 6VDC 50RPM gear motor, driven by a 1.5VDC power supply at 15ma. Designed with Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced using Cura 4.3.0, and printed in PLA on an Ultimaker 3+ Extended and an Ultimaker S5, this model showcases my expertise. One important note: I receive no compensation for the design, equipment, parts or materials used in this model.
