Not on the Isle of Avoch, but situated on the Black Isle, Carn Glas represents the remnants of a chambered Cairn belonging to the Orkney-Cromarty type. Excavated in 1906 by Lord Abercromby and later by Dr. Anthony Woodham between 1955 and 1956, the site was cleared of vegetation and restored by NOSAS and local groups between 2014 and 2015.
