During yesterday's production review meeting on October 22nd, concerns emerged regarding misaligned composite spool tensioners in newly manufactured Mark One composite 3D printers. While this doesn't compromise the performance of these cutting-edge devices, it undeniably mars their sleek aesthetics - an unwelcome detail we can all learn from Steve Jobs' unshakeable focus on impeccable componentry. Carl Calabria recognized that fashioning a customized jig for precise spool tensioner alignment would be a feasible solution. As users of the superior Mark One printer, we could rely on our own innovative solutions, utilizing it as a tool to create both sophisticated tools and precision-forged parts. Calibria chose OnShape for designing the custom jig's holder using computer-aided design software, importing its blueprint into Eiger - the dedicated programming software tailored for MarkForged. Thereafter, he infused continuous carbon fiber reinforcement into the jig, infusing it with necessary strength to endure production facility bumps and accidents - ensuring seamless alignment every time.
