Officially Extinct in 1952. Neomonachus tropicalis, also known as the Caribbean monk seal, is a now extinct species of seal that was endemic to the Caribbean region. The Caribbean monk seal was one of the only two tropical seals in the world, with a range that extended from the Gulf of Mexico to the Caribbean Sea. Sadly, the Caribbean monk seal was hunted for its meat, oil, and skin, and also suffered from habitat loss, overfishing, and disease. The last confirmed sighting of this species occurred in 1952, and it was declared extinct in 2008. Model includes a Pre-supported version. The model is sized for 1:24 of the actual size. You can reduce or enlarge the model using the slicing software if you need a different size. Pre-supported model is oriented to minimize supports to the face and other high-detail parts. Care should be taken when removing the supports to avoid damaging the model.
