Cargo Net Bungee Cord Hook
thingiverse
I designed a replacement hook for my dad's truck cargo net from scratch, taking inspiration from the store-bought hooks that kept breaking. I created this design by meticulously studying and replicating the original, with a few crucial improvements to make it even better. The new hooks are designed to securely attach a bungee cord by sliding it through the eyelet and channel at the top of the hook, then tightening it with gripping tines. All these details were carefully incorporated into this design. To prevent breakage like the previous hooks, I strengthened the overall width of the hook as well as its supporting structures. I created two models: one includes a clip similar to the original, while the other doesn't. This design is still a Work-In-Progress, so I haven't printed or tested it yet, but I plan on doing so soon and comparing its strength with that of an original hook. I'll post pictures and/or videos of the prints and tests to share my findings with everyone. To stay updated, be sure to click the "Watch" button. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please leave them below, and I'll do my best to answer each one. Feel free to print the files in the meantime - your feedback will be incredibly valuable. Thanks! *UPDATE 1 - 4/1/18* I added a photo of the original hook for anyone curious about its design.
