Cardboard Fastener (threaded)

Cardboard Fastener (threaded)

thingiverse

This is a fastening tool used to attach cardboard securely together. It is accompanied by thing:1034229, a single-print hinge that works well with it. It's uncertain whether this screw will be compatible with the Makedo "Scru" ecosystem or not, as I've never seen a scru (or other makedo product) in person for comparison. However, it does work effectively with thingiverse creations like a tool to drive them, a hinge and some brackets. I had hoped that the knurled version would be feasible to drive without the "wrench" part, but unfortunately, it was disappointing in that respect. Still, I kept the design anyway, so you'll probably want to print the non-knurled version and use thing:974158 as a driver for better results. Printer Settings: Printer: MP Select Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .300 Infill: 30% Notes: Print this screw in such a way that the head of it touches the bed of the printer. It will still work even with some droopy overhangs. How I Designed This: I used spring_melt's part as a reference for sizes, but designed a fresh part from scratch in openscad. Then, I tweaked it until it worked better than before.
