Card Box for Hand and Foot
thingiverse
This project is still in its early stages of development. Expect significant updates as work progresses. The box is designed to hold multiple decks of playing cards for Hand and Foot games. Normally, this game requires one more deck than players. This design accommodates seven decks or enough cards for six players. I haven't started printing it yet because my Ender 3 hasn't arrived yet. Once I receive it, I will need to assemble the box, perform calibration tests, and make a couple of modification prints before moving on to this project. The STL file for the entire box exists solely to prompt Thingiverse to add a thumbnail to the overview page. Attempting to print the current design would likely be a chaotic experience. Updates: 20 Sep 19 - The previous version was not long enough to hold seven decks and had an excessively thick wall of five millimeters. The updated model reduces the thickness to three point three millimeters while maintaining a three hundredth of a millimeter relief. To prevent corners from becoming too thin, I added fillets where the bottom and lid overlap. Additionally, I included a pattern of holes to reduce material usage, although it only made a slight difference.
