Repair Stands for broken carbon pole Pole diameters - all approx A 11.6-12.1mm B 15.8-16.0mm C 16.8-17.1mm D 18.4-18.7mm E Handle Support 39mm Tip support 8.6-9.0mm Each stand has 2 slightly different diameter 'cradles' on the uprights because the rods taper If you require different diameters and can open the .f3d Fusion360 file You can change user parameters: PoleDiameterSmall PoleDiameterLarge eg for the tip support I used 8.6mm and 9.0mm, for the Handle support both were 38.8mm I feel you need at least 2 stands either side of the repair You'll only need the Tip and Handle supports if you can't disassemble the pole and have to do the repair 'in situ' Repair video I found useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVZWZ3FMCRQ&feature=youtu.be To use the stands Find a long flat piece of wood / plywood Draw a straight line end to end a comfortable working distance in eg 150mm in from edge Position stands on the line at the correct spacing to ensure pole nestles into the cradles nicely Remove pole and screw stands down in position aligned accurately along the straight line Rest pole back in place and loosely loop over the cable ties but dont tighten yet Effect repair as shown in video above Tighten down cable ties whilst awaiting full cure to keep rod perfectly straight horizontally & vertically I'm going to repair my Aeroloop - device for rescuing Drones and RC planes from bushes & trees I am going to try to use standard heatshrink so I've put this in place before starting the repair as I wouldn't be able to get it on either end afterwards
