Carbon Fiber Tube Brace for Ender 5 Plus

I made these custom corner brackets to fit a 10mm carbon fiber tube diagonally into the side structure of my Ender 5 Plus to help stiffen up the frame. Carbon fiber is extremely stiff, and carbon fiber tubing is even stiffer. You will need to cut your carbon fiber tubing to approximately 675mm long; I recommend using an abrasive cut-off wheel on a Dremel or angle grinder for precise cuts. Hardware: 16 x M5 20mm screws 16 x M5 T-nuts for 2020 size extrusion, I suggest the roll-in kind with the spring ball so they stay in place 2 x 10mm OD Carbon Fiber tubing, cut to ~675mm long 15-minute Epoxy Glue Assembly: Insert the M5 T-nuts into the extrusion, 4 pieces per corner. Align them so that the corner bracket can be bolted in, but do not attach the corner bracket yet. Cut the carbon fiber tubing to length. Insert the tubing into both corner brackets and see if you have enough room to fit them inside the diagonal corners on the outside (left and right) frames. There should be a few millimeters of clearance to allow you to fit the bracket corners in with the tubing in place. The printed top surface of the brackets must face to the RIGHT of the machine, on both the left and right sides. Take the assembly apart, mix up some 15-minute epoxy glue, and put the glue on the tube sockets in the corner brackets. --- 15 MINUTE DEADLINE --- Insert the carbon fiber tubing to both ends with the glue. While the glue is still WET, take the assembly and bolt it into place in the diagonal corners of the frame. Wait 15 minutes for the epoxy to set, then WAIT 24 HOURS for it to cure fully. --- Finished --- Now you have corner brackets that will keep the top of the frame from flexing when doing fast Y-travel moves on the printer, stiffening it up greatly.
