Carbon Fiber Stencil

Carbon Fiber Stencil

So this was more of an experiment than anything, but it actually worked out pretty well. The file is meant to be sliced just one layer high, with slight overlaps on each square's corner to hold everything together tightly. In Simplify 3d, I sliced at 100% infill density, reduced my extrusion width slightly (to get the squares slicing properly), increased the extrusion multiplier, and printed it outside-in on my heated glass bed using PLA. It comes off the bed as a solid sheet with the right settings, but remains surprisingly flexible like paper, so you can easily tape it up against things and spray paint for a cool carbon fiber effect that looks super realistic.
