A 3D scanned mirror's surface was generated using "Rapid Surfacing" in NX, a reverse engineering tool that allows creating surfaces from STL file facets. The surface design relied on manually crafted splines within the facet body. The original model is shown in blue, while the carbon fiber representation displays the reverse engineered version.
