I use this system for automating tool changes on my DIY CNC machine. This setup allows the tool grounding circuit to short-circuit when the spindle touches a brass plate, enabling the macro to set the CNC bed and tool in one go. The process is completely hands-free once you've loaded the new tool and initiated the start sequence. This video showcases an older version of my setup; I don't have a current recording available, but the fundamental principle remains the same. You can view it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVrVgF8v1ZI&t=47s. To utilize this system effectively, you'll need to set up custom macros, which can be easily found by conducting an online search. This solution has been successfully implemented with both Mach3 and my current setup, UCCNC.
