Caracalla (4 April 188 – 8 April 217), officially known as Antoninus, ruled Rome from AD 198 to 217. He was a member of the Severan Dynasty and eldest son of Septimius Severus and Julia Domna. From 198 until 211, Caracalla shared power with his father, then with his brother Geta, whose murder he orchestrated in 211. Caracalla's reign was marked by domestic turmoil and invasion from Germanic tribes. This object is part of the "Scan The World" initiative.
