Carabiner with strong clip
thingiverse
This thing is based on Thing #489709, created by Charlie1982. I designed and built the carabiner from scratch to suit my specific needs, modifying the clip only slightly for better results. The modified clip provides more contact area with the build platform, making it easier to print since fewer adjustments are required. It also lasts longer due to the wider gap between its legs. Although it should be somewhat compatible with Thing #489709, note that I increased the size of the clip's pins, so they might be too tight for use together. For optimal results, print the clip at 85% infill or higher. The carabiner itself has functioned properly for me at a 60-65% infill rate. Please note that there is an updated design available on Thingiverse, located at thingiverse.com/thing:1008943. I recommend checking it out, as well as Charlie1982's website for other related carabiner designs. Instructions: When printing the clip and carabiner together, ensure you use a high infill percentage of 80-85% or more to achieve optimal durability. If the assembled clip does not move smoothly after printing, you may need to sand the holes in the carabiner slightly for proper fit. Please note that I have not uploaded the SpringClip plug; this will be added soon.
