Inspired by a blog post (http://stormdrane.blogspot.it/2011/08/paracord-carabiner-spool.html), I sought a compact, heavy item to carry rope and a diving signal tube. I purchased a large carabiner from Amazon and assembled two parts with a cable tie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cable_tie). The dimensions are detailed in the image: diameter is 0.12 cm.
